We began work on this lp with the intention of making it a part of Piano Portraits. But the Capitol surfaces did not cooperate, so the results, while eminently listenable, did not meeet the standards for a catalog release. Now salvaged from the ReDiscovery cutting room floor, so to speak, Leonard Pennario's first-rate Ravel proves to be an excellent demonstration of his musicianship and tonal beauty...along with a little vinyl noise here and there to complete the nostalgic effect.
